SUPA SKRIKA
Supa Strikas is a pan-African association football-themed comic about the titular football team dubbed "the world's greatest". Despite their enormous talent, the players must adapt in a game where being the best is only the beginning, and where the opposition is always full of surprises. Strika Entertainment publishes the 14-year-old Supa Strikas weekly and monthly to the tune of 1.4 million copies per month in 16 countries.
The comic appears in local family magazines Huisgenoot, You and Drum. Strika Entertainment also creates a 30-minute TV show that airs in 120 countries.

In 2017, National Stationery saw an opportunity to to capitalize South Africa's love of soccer. The brief was to create a product range that would appeal to primary school aged boys. The restrictions of the project were only to keep within Strika Entertainment brand guides colour and character restrictions,otherwise the only limit was imagination :)

The project was to create a line of back to school products for primary school aged children. The product range includes bags, book covers, gift wrap, lunch boxes, PVC balls and water bottles. In addition to the products Point of Sales, flyers and advertising needed to be designed for role out at all the major retailers Nationwide. ​The product range consisted of backpacks, lunch boxes, water bottles, gift wrap, pencil bags, book covers, book labels and balls.
2017's collection was a huge success in stores. Shoprite Checkers approached us to create the same product offering but with designs exclusive to them, all within the above parameters & requirements. So successful were the designs that the Strika Art director said that "it was the best implantation and designs for products that he has seen world wide."
To date the Supa Strika project has been the annual project that I look forward to. I love the taking the plain characters and creating designs to show the characters and the products at their best, while adhering to the strict guidelines of Super Strikas style guide.
